Lucky Cat

This is Lucky. She is also one of our "Missions in May" along with the dogs, but was not mentioned because we never see her. She was rescued as a kitten and fits her name very well since she's lucky anyone would keep such a skiddish cat that hides at the first sign of any kind of noise or movement. She'll knock over your glass of water as soon as you leave the room, but you'll never see her.

She seems to be the queen of the animals, siting patiently waiting for the bird to escape it's cage, batting at Toodles (the blind Boston terrier) as she innocently walks by and flopping down in front of Tasha (the border collie) so she can have her ears cleaned despite Tasha's growls and grumbles.

She is very particular about who she will let pet her...or even see her. Getting put to bed at night is a regular routine she loves, but will only let Sharon (my mother-in-law) do that. When she's ready for bed she comes out from hiding and walks down the hall towards the "cat bathroom" rubbing along the walls. Then, when she's safe in her bathroom, she gets brushed and petted and is left in there for the night.

Well, I think about week 3 of house sitting, Lucky must have decided that either Gary and Sharon were not coming back or that Gage and I weren't so scary after all. I'm proud to say that Lucky is now our best friend, asking to be put to bed each night and even following me around through out the day for pets. She even felt safe enough to walk right across Gage's belly in hopes that my attention on Gage would transfer to her!
