The deep cleaning included the hygienist, Karla, using a water pic, hand scaling, and finally polishing my teeth. It took two separate visits - about 5 hours total - to do all that. The hand scaling was probably the worst part - the hygienist had to really put some weight into the job and actually had to stop to rest her hand during the second visit. After the visit, I got to wondering, so got an x-ray somewhere else. I was a bit surprised. Here it is:
So, the pic is obviously a fake. I didn't go get another x-ray, but the rest of the story is true and I wouldn't be surprised if I did have some message carved into one of my molars. If you are wondering what the Dharma thing is about, you must not watch ABC's LOST.
