It was a long, long day going to Japan and we tried to sleep when we could along the way, but it was pretty tough. Actually, because we crossed the International Date Line, it was a short two days without a night between them - weird, yes. Going home, we'll actually went back in time when we crossed the International Date Line, but we had a night in the middle of our day. And if you don't think that's odd, consider 1, 3, 11, 15 and 169 which have absolutely nothing to do with anything. And, if you add them together you get 199 – which is also odd. And if you continue adding digits until you get down to one digit, you get 1. And 1 rhymes with “done”, so we’ll stop that train of random thought.
Gage did pretty well on the plain. Taking off went very well and he was pretty content on the flight, but we did have to get up with him once in a while when he got tired of looking at either us or the seat in front of him. He had many admirers on the. The altitude change when we descended to Tokyo was a bit rougher. He was rather upset until we got close to the ground, then he relaxed

Half of Gage’s hair was probably rubbed off by the time we left the elementary school (see the video).
12:15 PM BBQ lunch at Ikeda Farm
There were little grills set up on the tables, so we cooked beef, prawns, and shrimp right in front of us, then ate it. There was some watermelon and someone suggested having a seed spitting contest, so we have a few pics and video from that, including an ant dragging one of the seeds further down the sidewalk.

03:30 PM - 05:00 PM Rehearsal in Concert Hall.
Cindy Heath, Glen and Gage found some pastries near by.
We went to a sushi party at the home of the mayor of Takko (read Dale’s blog for more info). The Mayor’s son was there as well as some of the members of the city counsel – one of which was the “best looking guy in town”, “The best host in town”, and “a Karaoke champion.”

Yanase took Aimee to B6 where she stayed while she was there for the exchange thing. We got to see Aimee’s old room and desk area. Gage didn’t seem to enjoy the evening ceremony much (it was past his bedtime), but the girls still thought he was cute.

MIZUNAMI pottery / KYOTO
07:20 AM Visit Chorei (morning meeting).
There was some confusion of what time we needed to be down to go to this, so we thought we were late, but ended up being on time. We went to the girls dorms, where Aimee stayed, and watch them line up out side to exercise. We saw a couple of boys clubs running near by. It started to rain, so the morning meeting ended early.

Went to see the Japan Tokyo Temple (of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) first thing in the morning - it was closed, but we walked around the area. Accross the street from the temple was a park with a pond FULL of turtles. Glen deciphered a subway map we had enough to figure out what stop to get on and off to get to the temple. Some random Japanese guy helped us get the ticket there and we found our own way back.
