2008 In Review

We meant to get something posted as a Christmas letter to everyone since we didn't send out a letter this year, but that didn't happen, so here is an end-of-the-year post...

Our year started off with child birth preparation classes as we got ready for the first addition to our family, Gage R Saul. Anticipation of the new baby prompted us to finally start a blog - see our first post. Aimee and her mom, Anne, drove to the hospital from home while Glen left work and met them there at about 7:30pm March 3rd. Gage joined us on March 4th at 12:59am (Read more of the story here.). We are so happy to have Gage in our family. He is such a happy little guy and we can't help but smile at him constantly whether he is starring at something (or someone) blankly, making funny faces, laughing, attacking his Vienna Sausages, or throwing a tantrum (Yeah, he does that now too, but it often makes us laugh at him. We're sure it will get worse later). It isn't surprising that Gage has been our biggest inspiration in posting to our blog - just look at the guy!

Our other biggest news from 2008 was our trip to Japan with the Gilroy High School Chamber Alumni Choir. We have yet to post much on that trip other than one post which lacks much detail. We hope to have something up before too long (Does 6 months count as "too long"?). We had a wonderful time in Japan and can't thank the people that made it possible enough. Gage did well on the trip for being a 4 month old baby and gained many fans while we were there - He was even on TV a few times.


Aimee has cut down her work time to two half days a week at Orchard Veterinary Hospital so that she can care for Gage. She is still singing in the Gavilan College Choir, serving as the Ward Chorister, serving as the Laural Instructor, and being a wonderful wife.

Glen continues to work for TiVo. Work responsibilities took him back east a few times this past year. He recently moved to a new cube at work and got some pictures for Christmas to put up as decorations so that his coworkers will stop making comments about how boring his cube is and how if he doesn't get some stuff on the walls soon people will start to think he doesn't want the cube. Some people have toys and other random things, so Glen has thought about pulling his old boxes of toys out of his parents' attic and putting up some Transformers or Legos - maybe not. Glen has struggled to find time to do much video work, something he hopes to do more of in 2009. He has stayed busy with work, family, and his new church calling as elder's quorum president.

2008 has been a wonderful year for us. We are grateful for our good friends, far and near, and wish we could spend more (or any in some cases) time with them. We're glad that technology has made staying in touch with friends and family so much easier. We feel blessed to have an awesome extended family that we enjoy spending time with whether it's playing games, eating dinner, just hanging out, or doing some sort of home improvement project.
